We aim to create an unforgettable New Year's atmosphere for you. We will visit three countries and get acquainted with the festive traditions of their people, enjoy the world treasures of Dresden and Berlin, and the masterpieces of Vienna and Prague. During the trip, you will not only see the best but also the oldest markets in Europe, learn legends and interesting stories related to them, and, of course, taste mulled wine brewed according to various local recipes!
December 10, 2024 (Tuesday). Berlin.
Arrival. Transfer from the airport to the hotel, check-in. Sightseeing tour of Berlin, the capital of Germany, the largest city in Germany, the most populous and second-largest city in the European Union, with a history dating back to the 13th century. The difficult history of the city in the 20th century is reminded by the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and graffiti on the remnants of the Berlin Wall. We will see the German capital dressed in festive attire. We will visit Alexanderplatz and one of the most famous markets in East Berlin, which existed even during the GDR era. Overnight in Berlin.
December 11, 2024 (Wednesday). Berlin.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will start the day with a visit to Museum Island, a gem of Berlin, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999. Out of five museums, we will visit only two, but what a selection! The first will be the Neues Museum, where you will see the famous bust of Queen Nefertiti. In the afternoon, we will visit the most famous Berlin market on the square of the same name, located between the French and German Cathedrals and considered one of the most beautiful squares. Overnight in Berlin.
December 12, 2024 (Thursday). Dresden.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel with belongings and transfer to Dresden, the capital of Saxony (193 km, 2 hours 30 minutes). Dresden is the historical and cultural center of Saxony, located on the banks of the Elbe River. Almost completely destroyed in 1944, the city was painstakingly restored during the GDR era. We will visit the Dresden Gallery of Old Masters, one of the greatest collections of European fine art, returned by the Soviet Union to the German people in 1955. Here, many masterpieces are exhibited, including the "Sistine Madonna" by the universally recognized genius Raphael, created based on biblical motifs. Then we will visit the Dresden Christmas market (“Striezelmarkt”), considered one of the oldest in the world, beginning in 1434. According to legend, the King of Saxony, Frederick II, arranged a celebration in the city, for which a large cake (“Striezel”) was baked. Since then, the cake has given the market its name. Overnight in Dresden.
December 13, 2024 (Friday). Dresden - Prague.
Breakfast. Transfer from Dresden to Prague (150 km, 2 hours).
Walking tour of the Old Town for 4 hours on foot.
Republic Square (Christmas Market), Powder Tower (Powder Gate), Black Madonna, Celetná Street, Old Town Square (Christmas Market), Orloj - one of the symbols of the city, Church of Our Lady before Týn, Pařížská Street (the most luxurious and prestigious street in Prague), Jewish Quarter, Old-New Synagogue (founded in the 12th century). It is here that the legend of the Golem was born, which inspired many writers, artists, and filmmakers. The evening can be spent in the Old Town Square by the main Christmas tree of the Czech Republic, enjoying the magnificent Christmas market. Hotel accommodation. Overnight in Prague.
December 14, 2024 (Saturday). Prague.
Breakfast.
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, spreads along both banks of the Vltava River and is known as the City of a Hundred Spires. The historical center of Prague was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992.
Transfer to Hradčany. Excursion to Prague Castle (4 hours on foot).
Visit to Hradčany and Prague Castle, one of the largest castles in the world, the historical and political center of the Czech Republic. Strahov Monastery, Černín Palace, Loreta, Hradčany Square (Christmas Market), Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Royal Palace. We will watch the changing of the guard at Prague Castle. We will visit St. Vitus Cathedral and Golden Lane, where Franz Kafka lived in one of the houses.
Then we will descend to Malá Strana, where we will see the narrowest street in Prague, the Sculpture-Fountain "Peeing Men," Čertovka Canal, and make a wish on the Charles Bridge. The evening can be spent in Malá Strana at the Christmas market. Overnight in Prague.
December 15, 2024 (Sunday). Prague.
Breakfast. Transfer to Peace Square. Excursion to the New Town and Wenceslas Square (4 hours on foot). We will visit Peace Square (Christmas Market), the Church of St. Ludmila, Wenceslas Square, the National Museum, the statue of St. Wenceslas on horseback, the Lucerna Passage with the sculpture of the inverted horse by David Černý hanging from the ceiling, the historic park of Prague's New Town, the unique natural oasis - the Franciscan Garden with several interesting sculptures, the Quadrio shopping center with the nearby rotating Head of Franz Kafka, and more. The evening can be spent at Wenceslas Square at Prague's second-largest Christmas market. Overnight in Prague.
December 16, 2024 (Monday). Prague – Brno – Vienna.
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel. Transfer to Brno (207 km, 2 hours 30 minutes). Walking tour of Brno (2 hours). Brno is the second-largest city in the Czech Republic. During the tour, you will get acquainted with the capital of Moravia and see the main attractions: the Church of St. James and St. James Square, the city's main square - Freedom Square (where the largest Christmas market in the city is located), the Old and New Town Halls, Cabbage Market, Parnassus Fountain, Dietrichstein Palace, and the city's hallmark - the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul. We will continue our journey to Vienna (136 km, 2 hours). Hotel accommodation. Overnight in Vienna.
December 17, 2024 (Tuesday). Vienna.
Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing tour of Vienna, whose historic center was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001. Vienna, the capital of Austria, is one of the most culturally and historically significant cities in Europe. Founded by the Romans over two millennia ago, Vienna became a center of music, art, and architecture. The city is renowned for its magnificent palaces, including Schönbrunn and Hofburg, which reflect the wealth and grandeur of the Habsburg Empire. Vienna is also known as the home and workplace of famous composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. We will visit the Belvedere Palace, a splendid example of Baroque architecture. It was built in the 18th century by order of Prince Eugene of Savoy. The complex is divided into two parts – the Upper and Lower Palaces. Our path leads to the Upper Palace, which houses the largest collection of works by Gustav Klimt, including his famous "The Kiss." Photography is allowed in the gallery (of course, without flash!), so many visitors take selfies against the backdrop of this great painting. We will then proceed to the Vienna City Hall, where the capital's main Christmas market is located. Overnight in Vienna.
December 18, 2024 (Wednesday) - Vienna.
